English for Combined Studies
Students of combined (part-time) study progremmes are due to sit for an examination in the English language (NJAZ091 code), regardless of the candidate’s proficiency level.
Credits are only optional, and students do not have to collect any credits to enroll in the examination.
To gain a credit, students must:
a) attend the courses organised by the Department of Language
Education for full-time students and meet the obligatory course requirements,
or
b) meet course requirements without regular attendance.
Students must contact RNDr. Mgr. Luděk Šafařík to register for a credit test.
Credits for regular attendance in English courses
Students can choose any course offered by the Department of Language Education in accordance with their proficiency level. More information on the courses is provided on the webpages for full-time studies. The Department of Language Education provides four-semester preparation for the final examination. The courses for intermediate and advanced students (codes NJAZ070, 072, 074, 090, 170, 172, 174, 176) of 2 lessons a week (90 minutes once a week). The course for pre-intermediate students (codes NJAZ071, 073, 075, 089) of 4 lessons a week (90 minutes twice a week).
Students can gain a credit if they fulfil all course requirements (see below) at the end of every semester at the first and the second grade. Students gain 1 credit point in the faculty credit system and 5 points in the internal bonus system of the Department of Language Education. Students can benefit from internal points in the final examination.
Students gain a credit for passing written tests (grammar, lexis, listening and reading comprehension, and English for specific purposes ) and a seminar paper. In the case of combined (part-time) students, attendance is not obligatory.
Credits for self-study
To gain a credit, students can also get ready themselves in accordance with the course materials (see below). Students gain a credit for passing a writtent test (grammar, lexis, listening and reading comprehension, and English for specific purposes ) and a seminar paper. The date of the test must be consulted and agreed upon with dr. Luděk Šafařík.

Examination
Requirements for the exam are the same as for full-time students. Students must register for the exam in advance through the SIS.
