301. Department of Algebra
The Department of Algebra (Katedra algebry) is in charge of most algebraic lectures at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Charles University (MFF UK). The Department is the center of research in the following areas of contemporary algebra: associative algebras and modules, groups and binary systems, lattices and universal algebras. The research is supported by several grants and international projects. For the main recent results see selected recent publications. Every other year, an international conference "Some Trends in Algebra" (STA), is (co) organized by the Department. The traditional algebra seminar takes place in lecture room 319 each Monday in term time from 3:30 p.m. Besides faculty members, also visitors take part in its activities. There are several postgaduate students working towards their Ph.D. at the department
