School of Computer Science

Assistant Professor at the Department of Theoretical Computer Science and Mathematical Logic specializing in the field of artificial intelligence.

The candidates are expected to have experience in at least one of the following areas: robotics, agent technologies, automated planning, knowledge representation, or machine learning. Basic background in formal methods (logic and/or statistics), software engineering and computer systems is a plus. Assistant Professor at the Department of Distributed and Dependable Systems

Required expertise in one or more of the following topics:
- software architectures, adaptive software, software modeling,
- software testing and program analysis, formal verification,
- system software, middleware, computer security,
- software optimization and performance evaluation,
- programming languages and compilers,
- IoT/CPS.
The candidate is expected to participate in research, development and management of the current research projects within the department, and to work on expanding own research portfolio, including applying for research grants and developing industrial cooperation projects. The position includes a moderate teaching load. The candidate is expected to supervise undergraduate and graduate students, and to teach introductory and advanced software systems courses in English (knowledge of the Czech language is not required). The contract duration is three years. Potentially, the position is renewable; moreover, successful candidates are then encouraged to apply for promotion to the Associate Professor rank (habilitation) and to obtain a permanent position.

We invite applications for a faculty position at the rank of an assistant professor in the area of theoretical computer science.
We are looking for candidates that would complement and/or strengthen existing research areas in our institute. Strong candidates from all areas of theoretical computer science will be considered. Assistant Professor position (tenure track) in the Department of Algebra in algebra and logic.

Specialization: Computational complexity aspects of logic or algebra, or model theory related to algebra.
Qualification requirements: Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in a relevant area. International recognition and publishing activity in some of the above fields. Long-term foreign experience. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE APPLICATION PROCEDURE

All applicants are required to have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in the relevant field, professional practice in the given field, positive attitude towards pedagogical activities, ability to integrate scientific activities, teaching and supervision of student work (for associate professors and professors, including training of doctoral students), permanent publishing activity in the given field in impacted periodicals or in periodicals equivalent and recognized in the given field, as well as experience from stays at foreign workplaces.

In the case of the position of associate professor, a habilitation in the relevant field or the achievement of a comparable position at an internationally recognized foreign workplace is required.

In the case of a professor position, the appointment of a professor in the relevant field or the achievement of a comparable position at an internationally recognized foreign institution is required and significant publication activity, a clear role on an international scale and the ability to coordinate the work of an expert group are expected.
