Professor at the Department of Condensed Matter Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University.
Education and professional career: 1986 – 1992 study at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics (FMP) of the Charles University (CU) in Prague, graduated 1992. 1992 – 1997 PhD study at FMP CU, Dr. degree in Solid State Physics in 1997. 1997–2004 junior assistant at the Charles University in Prague. since 07/2004 Associate Professor at the Department of Condensed Matter Physics FMP CU. since 01/2019 Professor at the Department of Condensed Matter Physics FMP CU 2014 – 2021 head of the Department of Condensed Matter Physics
Longer stays abroad 1992/93 – 6 month at TU Wien ( Institute for Experimental physics) 1994/95 – 12 month in Centre d'Études Nucléaires de Grenoble 1997 – 2 month in Institute for Transuranium Elements Karlsruhe 2002/3 – 2 years in Institute for Transuranium Elements Karlsruhe
Fields of interest: magnetism of f-electron intermetallics, neutron scattering studies of magnetic structures and excitations, measurements and analysis of specific heat of various systems.

Miscellaneous: since 2014 – representative of the Czech Republic in the steering committee of the Central European Neutron Initiative (CENI). Member of the subcommittee of the Scientific Council of ILL Grenoble (2007 – 2009 and 2016 – 2018)
Research grants: principal investigator of several Czech Science Foundation (GACR), INGO II and Inter Excellence projects, responsible person for the Large Research Infrastructure MGML (since 2018) and Institut Laue-Langevin – involvement of the Czech Republic (2016–2019).
