Prof. RNDr.Vladimír SECHOVSKÝ, DrSc. (born: 15.7.1946 in Mšeno, Czech Republic).
Professor of Physics, Department of Condensed Matter Physics (DCMP), Faculty of Mathematics and Physics (FMP), Charles University in Prague (CU), Ke Karlovu 5, 121 16 Prague 2, Czech Republic.
Professional career: 1970 graduated at FMP CU, 1975 PhD. at FMP CU, 1975–88 Junior Scientist, 1988–1991 Senior Scientist, Department of Metal Physics (DMP) FMP CU, 1991–8 Leading Researcher, 1992 Doctor of Science (DrSc.) at CU, 1993 Assistant Professor at FMP CU, 1998 Professor at FMP CU, 1998–2014 Head of the Joint Laboratory for Magnetic Studies (JLMS), 2012–2016 Head of the Magnetism and Low-Temperatures Laboratory (Czech national research infrastructure), 1992–2021 Head of the Group of Magnetism, 2000–05 Head of the Department of Electronic Structures FMP CU, 2005–2012 vice-dean for Physics School of FMP CU.
Fields of interest:magnetism and superconductivity in f- and d-electron materials – correlations with electronic structure, strongly correlated electron systems – emergent phases and phenomena, criticality.
