Article in PRL: Electrons surfing on a light wave

Physicists from KCHFO have studied the interaction between electrons and light in a regime in which an electron is trapped in an optical beat wave. The new way of modulating the electron energy spectra may lead to interesting applications in electron microscopy and spectroscopy.
