Members of our department also participate in the organization of international conferences and workshops, both directly (for example EUROMAT 2013, International Workshop on Polymer-Metal Nanocomposites, German-Czech Workshop on Nanomaterials, Workshop on Plasma-Based Synthesis of Nanomaterials, Plasma Science and Entrepreneurship Workshop) and indirectly through participation in international organizing committees (eg EPS, JVC, European Joint Committee on Plasma and Ion Surface Engineering).
In addition to these activities, some of our employees are, or have been, guest editors of special issues of professional journals:
- Innovative Plasma-Based Deposition Techniques for the Production of Functional Materials (O. Kylián, A. Choukourov)
- Interpenetrating Polymer Networks (L. Hanyková)
- Recent and Future Prospects in the Plasma-Driven Vapor Deposition Process (D. Thiry, A. Choukourov)
- Plasma synthesis of nanoparticles and nanocomposite coatings (A. Choukourov, L. Mangolini)
- Formation of Advanced Nanomaterials by Gas-Phase Aggregation (V.N. Popok, O. Kylián)
Last but not least, our employees are regular reviewers of scientific articles in renowned journals, members of panels of grant organizations (GAČR, GAUK), evaluators of grant projects not only within agencies operating in the Czech Republic but also foreign agencies (eg Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research , Development and Innovation Funding (UEFISCDI, Romania), Fonds de la Recherche Scientifique (FNRS, Belgium), Central European Research Infrastructure Consortium (CERIC), or members of commissions / opponents in defending diploma and dissertation theses at Czech and foreign universities (Ghent University , Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, University of Bologna…).
