Atmospheric Gravitational Waves for the Fourth Time
After a year, classroom T1 at MFF UK has been once again hosting workshop with a focus on gravity waves, organized by a research group of the same name at Department of atmospheric physics.
This year's workshop has attracted more than dozen of foreign experts and a similar number of local students and experts as well. Special guest of this year was Prof. Kaoru Sato from the University of Tokyo, who is also the president of Meteorological Society of Japan and a member of Science Council of Japan. Among other guests was for example Prof. Corwin Wright from the University of Bath, who took part in the successful last workshop, or Dr. Andreas Dörnbrack from Institute for Atmospheric Physics from German research center DLR.
Science topics of the workshop were ways of identifying gravity waves in observations and models, interaction of waves with the mean flow and their impact in the atmosphere of not only Earth, but also Mars. Thanks to all the guests and organizers for the great run this year and we are looking forward to the next one!
