Light microscopy (LM)
Light microscopy is a basic and simple method for investigation of the microstructure of materials. The Laboratory of Light Microscopy is equipped with an advanced inverted Zeiss Axio Observer 7 metallographic microscope. Its main features include:
- Full motorization – Z-axis (focusing), XY scanning stage, lens change, aperture settings – this allows automatic image acquisition with an extended depth of focus, large-area images,...
- Set of plan semi-apochromatic lenses for magnification from 50x to 1000x.
- Contrast techniques – polarized light, differential interference contrast (DIC), dark field.
- Sensitive fast camera with 5 Mpx resolution.
