Instructions for employees
Here you will find information on lending services, book purchase suggestions, e-resources, interlibrary loan service, bibliography and open access.
- you must register as a reader to make use of the lending services;
- for lending period of different kinds of documents see the overview of types of document loans;
- some documents need to be pre-ordered from the warehouse. Information about the need to pre-order a document from the warehouse can be found directly next to the document record in the CUNI Central catalogue;
- each employee is responsible for his/her borrowings and can monitor their status by logging into his/her reader account;
- we strongly recommend that borrowing documents from colleagues or students be only handled through the library - you can set a return date in the library system and also re-book the book back to the borrower, or retrieve it if it is not returned;
- the library cannot disclose information about who has the book on loan or provide information about the status of loans to other people due to GDPR - so any requests should be dealt with through the library, which will contact the person and request the book for you;
- if you need to find out what to do if you lose a book, go to the Loan services section;
- to find out how to register a book from a grant, see the section Purchase of new books;
- please don't forget the annual revision of staff loans;
- when terminating your employment, please remember your obligation to settle your obligations to the library;
- the library welcomes suggestions for purchasing study literature; we are happy to order books from grants; the advantage is the simplification of the whole process for grant holders and the discounts the library has with suppliers; see the Purchase of new books page for more information;
- for the list of e-resources we have available in our faculty, see the E-resources;
- if you need a book or a copy of an article that our library does not offer, you can use the Interlibrary loan service;
- information on ORCID, RIV and OBD can be found in the Bibliography section;
- if you are interested in open access, please visit the website of the Open Science Support Center - here you will find information on how to publish openly as well as other useful stuff;
- if you would like to install the EndNote 20 citation manager, see the E-resources section for details.
