Faculty coordination
The MFF UK Library plays a coordinating role within the faculty in the following areas:
- Evidence of the results of creative activities
- Evaluation of creative activities
- Open Access
- Evidence and publication of theses and dissertations
- Turnitin
- File documentation services
Coordination for the area of evidence of the results of creative activities
The faculty coordinator of this area:
- provides training for the departmental administrators and other users of the OBD module according to the current evaluation methodology, other guidelines of the Government Council for Research, Development and Innovation and university-wide methodological rules,
- provides consultations to departmental administrators on the creation and use of records in the OBD module,
- ensures the additional insertion of the full text of the result and any additional data or annexes into the already complete record in cooperation with authors and departmental administrators if the result is selected for submission for peer review,
- sets the access permissions for the departmental administrators,
- is responsible for the formal inclusion of the results in the annual data batch for the R&D&I system,
- announces the deadline for authors and departmental administrators to complete data collection for the given year,
- prepares the annual data batches for the R&D&I system, within the deadlines set by the university coordinator,
- prepares reports and analyses for the needs of the faculty or other units of the university,
- performs spot checks on selected records,
- cooperates with coordinators of other areas,
- communicates with the university coordinator of records and participates in training and methodological meetings organised by the university coordinator,
- solves technical problems arising in the registration process in cooperation with the university coordinator, and
- provides the necessary assistance to the coordinators and other participants in the internal quality assessment at the university.
The faculty coordinator of this area can be contacted primarily by departmental administrators in the following cases:*
- if you are a new departmental administrators and need to be assigned rights to edit your department's records or trained in the control of bibliographic records according to the valid methodology
- if you need consultation on how to work with records in the OBD module (i.e. if you don't know what to do)
- if you need to make additional corrections to a record (which is already in the status of "Approved by the department" or "Accepted"), remove it from the government RIV database (e.g. if you find that it contains false information), or insert full text for peer review purposes
* Authors (i.e. staff or students of individual faculty departments) should address their questions about entering the results of the creative activity record into the OBD module primarily to their departmental administrators.

Coordination for the area of evaluation of creative activities
The faculty coordinator of this area:
- provides consultations on the valid evaluation methodology, especially to students and faculty staff
- in cooperation with the faculty coordinator for the evidence of the results of creative activities, prepares an annual overview of recommended impacted journals for publication, divided into research fields,
- controls the insertion of the full texts of the results and any additional data or annexes into the already complete record in the system for collecting publication results (OBD), if the result is selected for submission for peer review,
- coordinates the assignment of individuals to research fields and the completion of the selection of results for peer review, and monitors the submission of proposals for inclusion in the list of assessors and research fields evaluation review panels,
- participates in the discussion of the faculty's self-evaluation report, the preparation of the bibliometric report, and co-provides input to the evaluation review panels and the Creative Activity Review Board,
- prepares reports and analyses for the needs of the faculty or other parts of the university,
- cooperates with coordinators of other areas,
- communicates with the university coordinator for the evidence of the results of creative activities and participates in training and methodological meetings organised by the university coordinator,
- provides the necessary assistance to coordinators and other participants in the internal quality assessment at Charles University.
The faculty coordinator of this area is Mgr. Jiří Kuča
Coordination for the area of Open Access
The faculty coordinator of this area:
- collaborates with the university's Open Access specialist in the development and implementation of institutional open access policies at CU,
- provides methodological and technical support to authors in uploading full-text, employee works to institutional repositories,
- collaborates with the faculty's economic department and other departments in monitoring and analysing the Open Access publication fees paid (APC monitoring),
- provides methodological support to authors to publish in Open Access mode,
- actively participates in the promotion of CU institutional open access policies,
- monitors trends and current developments in the field of Open Access/Science at international and national level.

Coordination for the area of registration and publication of theses and dissertations
The faculty coordinator of this area:
- communicates in matters related to the registration of final theses with the person in charge of the Computer Science Center of Charles University,
- regularly informs the faculty management about the status of thesis registration,
- collects suggestions and comments on the registration and publication of theses from the faculty departments and the faculty management, and after evaluation at the faculty passes them on to the Computer Science Center of CU,
- organises the entry of theses into the system at the faculty,
- communicates with students and solves matters related to entering attachments into the Student Information System,
- coordinates the activities of the faculty in the field of registration and publication of theses in cooperation with the Computer Science Center of CU, i.e. instructs the faculty staff to perform the relevant tasks in relation to the registration and publication of the electronic form of theses and controls the processing of these tasks.
The coordinator for this area should be contacted if:
- you have problems saving the thesis text in the required PDF/A format (even though you have used the current thesis template),
- you have questions about copyright issues related to your thesis (especially if you are not sure how to handle the data you use in your thesis; your thesis is the result of software you developed in collaboration with a third party, etc.),
- if you are unable to upload your thesis or appendices to the Student Information System, if you need to make a request to delay the publication of your thesis or appendix and do not know how to make or formulate this request.

Coordination for the area of Turnitin
The faculty coordinator of this area:
- communicates in matters relating to plagiarism with the person in charge of the Computer Science Center of CU,
- provides methodological and technical support to authors when entering texts into Turnitin,
- collects suggestions and comments on the Turnitin system from the faculty departments and the faculty management, and after evaluation at the faculty passes them on to the Central Library of Charles University,
- communicates with students and deals with matters relating to the interpretation of the results of plagiarism control,
- provides technical support in the control of habilitation theses.
The coordinator for this area should be contacted if:
- you have questions about the results of the plagiarism control (especially if you are not sure how to interpret the results of the control, etc.),
- you have a problem with the Turnitin system or are unsure and need any help.

Coordination for the area of file documentation services
The faculty coordinator of this area:
- coordinates the faculty's activities in the field of file documentation services in cooperation with the Charles University Rectorate, i.e. gives instructions for the performance of relevant tasks in the electronic file documentation services,
- communicates with the file documentation nodes and resolves matters related to the electronic file documentation services,
- collecting suggestions and comments on the recording of documents in the electronic file documentation services,
- methodically coordinates the performance of the file documentation services at the faculty with regard to the legislative and procedural aspects of document management,
- organises shredding procedures related to the electronic file documentation services,
- performs tasks related to the performance of the electronic file documentation services,
- coordinates the execution of the file documentation services at the MFF UK and communicates with the UK's coordinator of the file documentation services.
